“Our trainer had a manner which made it easy to try things. I enjoyed the course, and found it really useful, thorough and practical. It was easy to see how it would apply to our situation.”
Who is the First Aid in Schools & Colleges course for?
This course is intended for settings which have already met their statutory requirements in terms of equipping their staff with either a Level 3 First at Work certificate or an Level 2 Emergency First Aid at work certificate but who require additional teacher first aid training. This could be to provide further cover for certain activities such as residential trips, sporting activities and out of hours clubs etc.
It is also suitable for schools that have varying age ranges of children e.g. independent schools catering for 1-18 year olds and Middle schools catering for 9-13 year olds.
These staff members may not necessarily require a full three day course. However they may need to have some focus spent on elements of first aid that are specifically relevant to their working practice. For example Sports teachers often like to have a greater understanding of head and skeletal injuries and asthma as these problems may occur during sporting activities.
